Internal Auditor and ISO Transition Training

Paradygm trains your people to run and maintain your own management system. We offer three main programs: general internal auditor training, R2v3 internal auditor training for electronics recyclers, and awareness training on the ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026 transitions. Each one is tailored to your system and delivered on-site at your facility or remotely. Every participant who completes a course receives a certificate of completion.

General internal auditor training

Who it's for: employees who will carry out internal audits, process owners, and quality, environmental or safety coordinators.

What it covers:

  • What an internal audit is for, and what your registrar expects to see from your internal audit program

  • Planning an audit program and individual audits, including risk-based scheduling

  • Using a process-based checklist that covers the shared Harmonized Structure clauses once and then each standard's specific requirements

  • Interviewing, sampling records and observing work on the floor

  • Writing clear, evidence-based findings: nonconformities, observations and opportunities for improvement

  • Corrective action follow-up and feeding results into management review

The program follows the auditing principles in ISO 19011, the international guideline for auditing management systems, and is tailored to the standards in your system.

Need us to carry out the audit instead of training your team? See our integrated internal audit service.

R2v3 internal auditor training

Who it's for: staff at R2v3 facilities (or facilities preparing for R2v3) who will audit the R2 requirements, the legal compliance plan or data security and sanitization.

Why it matters: R2v3 requires internal audits at least annually against the facility's EH&S management system and each R2 requirement. It requires periodic audits of the legal compliance plan and annual data security and sanitization audits by a competent and independent auditor. Handing someone a checklist is not enough. The auditor needs to understand the processes being audited.

What it covers:

  • R2v3 structure: Core Requirements and which Process Requirement appendices apply to your scope

  • Building an auditor competency matrix, because EH&S compliance, R2 and data security audits need different knowledge

  • Auditing the legal compliance plan, including import/export legality for shipments

  • Auditing downstream vendor qualification and tracking

  • Validating the data sanitization process, including sampling of logically sanitized devices

  • Records auditors need to see, and how to avoid findings caused by too few records

Our internal auditors have completed the SERI R2 Lead Auditor course and passed the final exam.

ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026 transition awareness

Who it's for: top management, ISO team members, process owners and staff with management system roles.

What it covers:

  • Leadership briefing: what changed, what top management is now expected to do (for example, quality culture and ethical behaviour in ISO 9001:2026, and supporting everyone with an EMS role in ISO 14001:2026), and the transition deadlines

  • ISO team training: clause-by-clause changes, how to update risk and opportunity methods, planning of changes and documented information

  • Staff awareness: what the changes mean in day-to-day work

  • Internal auditor update: auditing against the 2026 editions

Key dates: ISO 9001:2015 certificates must transition by 30 September 2029, and ISO 14001:2015 certificates by April 2029 (30 April in the US, 15 April in Canada).

Other training and resources

How training works

  1. Scope: tell us your standards, who needs training and what they already know.

  2. Tailor: we build the material around your own procedures, not standard templates.

  3. Deliver: on-site at your facility or remotely.

  4. Certificate: each participant who completes the course receives a certificate of completion.

Frequently asked questions

Who needs internal auditor training?

Anyone who will carry out internal audits of your management system. Most standards require internal auditors to be competent and objective, and training is the usual way to show that.

Can one person audit ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001?

Often, yes, if they are competent in each standard and don't audit their own work. For R2v3, EH&S compliance and data security audits need specialist knowledge, so many facilities use more than one auditor.

Is the training on-site or remote?

Both. We deliver training on-site at your facility or remotely. Audits are always carried out at your facility.

Do participants receive a certificate?

Yes. Everyone who completes a course receives a certificate of completion.

Is the training tailored to our system?

Yes. In line with our approach of tailored solutions rather than standard templates, training is built around your own procedures and processes.

How do we get a quote for training?

Request a quote or call 1-855-702-9001 and tell us your standards and how many people need training.
